JOURNEY TO SPIRITUAL ALCHEMY
"Adapt what is useful, reject what is useless, and add what is specifically your own."Â ~ Bruce Lee

The journey towards Spiritual Alchemy has been long and arduous in the quest to establish a healthy relationship with God and the humans I interact with and love. My life from the outside, may look like one of privilege...Born on a tiny island in a melting pot of an amalgamation of cultures has been my first lesson in dualities....never fully identifying with being Asian American (I was neither Asian or American) until I went to college in Mid-America. Growing up in Hawaii, I was somewhat sheltered when it came to race. In the 80s and 90s the racial climate was veiled in humor and the spirit of aloha. However, there was a sense of underlying tension brewing from years of political and economical strife of the Native Hawaiian people. Native Hawaiian pride was resurfacing with movements of Sovereignty. I felt that being Japanese by race, Hawaiian and American by culture was not something to be proud of. I became the microcosm of the macrocosm in that I started to deny my Japanese-ness, wanting to look more “other” wishing I was “hapa” or mixed as that was considered “more beautiful.” Residuals of this conditioned belief system still plague me. With time, age, and a deep longing to find truth and purpose, I am able to find peace and acceptance within. The journey towards truly knowing oneself and finding one's purpose continues...If this resonates let’s connect, unravel, and curate a life worth living no matter where we are on our journey.
